Uncle Bill's Cottage is a gorgeous country cottage on a working sheep and beef farm. It's the ideal place for peace and relaxation - fabulous for a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a break away with your friends.The cottage is toasty warm in winter with a great log fire, and plenty of firewood. Relax on the deck in the sunshine, and watch the river meander past. The gentle sound of the river will lull you to sleep at night.
There are plenty of farm activities for the children - feeding animals, collecting eggs from the hens, or riding the sled towed behind the quad bike. Children love to experience farm life!
Uncle Bill's is ideally situated as a base for all outdoor activities in the region. From Ruapehu with Turoa and Whakapapa ski fields, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and the 42 Traverse, there are many great sights and experiences to explore.
Our valley provides world class trout fishing in the Manganui O te Ao River, just 15 minutes away. The Mangapurua section of the Mountain to Sea National Cycleway starts only 22km down our road at Ruatiti.
Ohakune and Mt Ruapehu is a short 20 minute drive from the cottage, with cafes, bars and a wealth of cycling and walking tracks.
